Types of Massage Shiatsu: Japanese acupressure massage that restores energy to the body and promotes and maintains health. Shiatsu lasts 75 minutes and is performed with the client fully clothed. Swedish: The most common form of massage. Swedish massage mainly relaxes the muscles, eases aches and pains and increases range of motion. Deep Tissue: A deep pressure massage that helps release knotted, tight muscles. Deep tissue massage is generally administered with Swedish to help induce relaxation after applying deep pressure to muscles. Reflexology: Massage of the feet, hands, and/or ears. Reflexology involves stimulating areas of the feet, hands or ears that correspond to specific organs and parts of the body. Prenatal/Postpartum: Massage for the expectant or new mother. Provides physical and emotional nurturing for mom and her baby. Oncology Massage: Light, gentle massage for the client diagnosed with cancer. Massage helps reduce anxiety levels, manage pain, and boost the immune system.
